Employee Spotlight: Meet Matt Jespersen, VP of Operations

Matt Jespersen brings a wealth of experience to the Modelcraft Co. team, with 17 years in the manufacturing industry. Before joining Modelcraft, Matt spent time in the food service industry and then moved into a managerial role at a local supply store, where he honed his leadership and operational skills.


As the Vice President of Operations at Modelcraft, Matt oversees the company's overall operations, focusing on improving efficiency and optimization. He has been with Modelcraft for an impressive 14 years, where his strategic thinking and meticulous approach have been instrumental in driving the company forward. One of Matt's standout achievements at Modelcraft was developing a visually aided scheduling system. This innovative project significantly maximized production capacity and improved workflow efficiency, demonstrating Matt's ability to lead impactful operational improvements.


Describing himself as strategic, meticulous, and fair, Matt also holds a certificate of apprenticeship in tool and die making, which laid the foundation for his success in the manufacturing industry. He stays abreast of the latest trends and advancements in his field by networking through social media and engaging in meaningful conversations with industry associates.


Matt aims to continually advance as a leader, with a particular interest in expanding his knowledge in engineering, business administration, and lean manufacturing. Modelcraft supports his growth by providing opportunities for further education and leadership development.


Outside of work, Matt enjoys playing the drums, which serves as his creative outlet. He is also passionate about cooking, often experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with family and friends. Matt emphasizes maintaining a healthy lifestyle through various activities that keep him active and balanced. Integrity and a strong work ethic are core values that Matt holds dear. He believes in the importance of keeping one's word and demonstrating a solid commitment to any task.


Matt's greatest motivation comes from his beautiful wife and three wonderful children, who inspire him to succeed both professionally and personally. Aside from his professional accomplishments, Matt takes pride in living a fulfilling and focused life. His journey has been rich with diverse experiences, and he values the balance between adventure and staying true to his principles.
